From a 3D printed vaccine patch to an electric truck, a seawater-powered lamp, and countless other bold innovations, the sixth annual awards honour the products, concepts, companies, policies, and designs that are driving change, tackling issues from climate change to inequality, and so much more.

Sydney – May 3 Pathzero, a SaaS-based company specialising in the decarbonisation of investment portfolios, earned recognition in Fast Company’s 2022 World Changing Ideas Awards, an annual global awards program that honours companies that are pursuing innovation for the good of society and the planet.

Pathzero received an honourable mention in the Climate category, which was introduced for the first-time in this year’s awards. The Climate category showcases projects designed to help solve the climate crisis.

Pathzero’s digital platform was recognised for its uniqueness and its potential to revolutionize the way investors measure carbon emissions in their portfolios, especially for unlisted companies where accurate emissions information is often difficult to access. By bringing carbon transparency to investment portfolios, the company’s software gives investors the potential to accelerate the transition to net zero, whilst helping them deliver on their fiduciary responsibility to manage climate risk.

Carl Prins, Co-Founder and CEO at Pathzero said “It's an honour to be recognised by Fast Company for our contribution to driving action on climate change. By directing capital into the solutions that will support our transition to net zero, capital markets can be a powerful force for good. We’ve already built a strong ecosystem of institutional investors, asset managers, and portfolio companies who are sharing their carbon information with each other and seeing the benefits this transparency brings to their organisations’ emissions reduction objectives. We look forward to continuing to deliver on our vision to accelerate the decarbonisation of the global economy.”

A panel of eminent Fast Company editors and reporters selected winners and finalists from a pool of more than 2,997 entries - with climate, social justice, and AI and data among the most popular categories. The 2022 awards feature entries from across the globe and are selected based on feasibility and the potential for impact.

Fast Company’s Summer 2022 issue showcases some of the world’s most inventive entrepreneurs and companies tackling global challenges.
